The very first METALPATHS awards came to an end! With the readers to have chosen the top picks of the year, the awards were considered to be the best way to reflect the reader’s most favorable metal moments of 2016.  In some sections, outsiders claimed the glory, while other awards were thrown away to the most foreseeable choice. Winners and losers all together shaped 2016 and should be proud of even having their name associated with last year’s music elites.

The webzine itself would like to thank everyone who participated, both bands and fans. Last year may have been quite frustrating, or at least seemed that way, but metal endured and evolved, while artists continued to express their thoughts and beliefs freely and without hindrances. Those acts could deliver inspiration and courage for any fan to get through anything frustrating or challenging within life, making a year great in its own, unique terms.

Below are the winners of the first awards given by the fans and readers of Metalpaths.com. Feel free to comment and share either your excitement or frustration with the winners, while the winners and losers should look forward to inspire and shape the future of our favorite music once more.
