Ross The Boss
Eightball Live Stage, Thessaloniki, Greece
19/05/2009
On Saturday, May 9, 2009, “Pantheon” presented “Ross the Boss at 8ball live stage in Thessaloniki. For those of you who don’t know about “Ross the Boss”, the band was formed in 2006 by Ross “The Boss” Friedman, former guitarist and founding member of “Manowar”, and “Men of War”, a “Manowar” cover band. Those of you, who didn’t make it to the show on Saturday, you should know that you missed an incredible event! On the other hand, those of you who actually made it there, you composed a great audience and contributed greatly to the general atmosphere!
Even though it’s only been a year since the release of the band’s first album, “Ross the Boss” are a unique example in regard to how important it is for the band members to form a tight unit together. They offered a great show, they pleased the fans and that Saturday night is definitely a night to remember!

Apart from their own tracks they performed several “Manowar” tracks, among which were “Hail & Kill”, “Death Tone” and “Thor”. What I found very interesting is that even though “Ross the Boss” are a relatively new band, the people at the concert seemed to know the lyrics of all the tracks and sang along with the band! Another thing I find important is the fact that this time the band chose to play five shows in Greece: in Alexandroupolis, Thessaloniki, Larisa, Athens and two in Crete! It’s remarkable to see that such a great band played also in cities other than Athens and Thessaloniki.
I’d like to congratulate the people at 8ball live stage for hosting such a show, but I’d also like to point out a very disappointing thing: I found the promotion of that event totally unsatisfactory. Within the following two or three days after the show, I spoke to at least 20 people, who would like to have come, but unfortunately knew nothing about it! And I’m sure that many of you, reading this right now, feel exactly the same way. Hopefully, next time, promotion-wise, things will be much better…
Rena Kostopoulou.
