Some of you might happen to ignore of this hidden Doom/Death jewel listening to the name “October Tide”. It is important to mention, that behind this low profile band (formed back in 1995) were two masterminds of the genre and that goes to Mr. Frederik Normann(ex-Katatonia) and Mr.Jonas Renske (Katatonia-not participating anymore in OT). Having already two releases, Frederik Normann brought the band back to life, after his departure from Katatonia last year and with some new partners, here’s their new third full-length release after 11 years of silence entitled “A Thin Shell”.

Can you imagine a misty place in pure northern cold winter? If so, then you’re half way to the first thing OT’s music will bring you in mind. The other half, is this mixture of extra deep music, in the tradition of old Doom/Death. Circulating in the likes of old Katatonia (Akerfeldt days), Daylight Dies, Rapture, Slumber, but also having this unique strength to reach further than that. The finest of vast and vein-cutting melodies. Full sound and melancholic isolation music at its finest.

For everyone that believes that Doom/Death has nothing more to give, I dare you to check this one as well as their back catalogue…This is a great album of inner silence and solitude! Don’t miss them for nothing!
