Vulvectomy
Abusing Dismembered Beauties

Vulvectomy comes from Italy and they follow the path of this slam death metal. I have told before that many bands of this genre are not of my taste. Yet there are many great bands, such as Devourment (the pioneers of the genre), that I take my hats off of their music. Unfortunately The Italian trio is not one.

What we have here is the usual. Piggish squeals for vocals, low distorted guitars and many samples of sound clips. Those clips are the most interesting part of the CD because of their black humor. I couldn’t find a single glance of originality. Their riffs seemed to me like I listened to them many times before.

The tempo of the songs is the slow that those slam death metal bands use; most of the time that is. There are some outbreaks, but most of them are pointless. And the slow tempos are likely the dominant. The fast parts are very noisy that you cannot distinguish the guitar riffs. “Deformed Tits Collection” is an example.

The shock value is there on the lyrics and on the artwork. As every band that plays this type of death metal such Vulvectomy has the usual topics. Blood, gore and perversion are what those Italian guys are also interested to. And they do it right, I must give them this. The shock value is high and a lot of funny.

So in closure of this review I believe you could find many other bands doing the same as Vulvectomy. And many others that do it better. I have heard their previous works and I found them a bit better than this one. They use the same shock values but the production is dirtier than their latest release and it is fitting perfectly to them. I can’t write a lot more about these guys. So if you are only a die-hard fan of slamming death metal, then maybe you will find something interesting. I don’t.
