KARMA VIOLENS are from Greece and they play extreme metal. No, this doesn’t conclude all this band represent. This is only the surface. In 2011 KARMA VIOLENS released their debut album “Dormancy”. Four years later they come back with “Skin Of Existence”.

Some great albums like “Reign In Blood” from Slayer and “Slaughter Of The Soul” of At The Gates have time length less than 45 minutes. Why I say that (maybe) useless information? Because “Skin Of Existence” has the same time length. Also this album surely honors the pre-said masterpieces. I don’t say that it will become just as huge but these similarities are good for me at least. There are many influences all in the perfect doses.

After “Incuarius” the intro of the album comes “Bloodbath” and it grabs you by the neck!! Fast riffing and solid granite drumming. As far the vocals, Marios is like a beast behind the microphone. A very awesome beginning. “Soulless Child” is slower than the first one but it makes you want bang your head against the wall. And damn how I love those crawling riffs!!Now “Floating In Sadness” is the video clip the band released a month or more ago. It “smells” At The Gates for miles away but it is not a copy. And the ending is pure fucking amazing. “Le Temps Du Suicide” is a bit of mix of fast and mid tempo but at the same quality of the previous ones. Next comes “About My Creator” a song that begins like a hurricane and continues like an armor tank coming fast your way. Truly amazing and from one point epic!

The song “Skin Of Existence” follows the previous patterns more or less but it far from boring or uninteresting. “Si Vis Vitam Para Mortem” has an awesome backbone riff and a chaotic refrain and “Incubation Day” continues the same way without I second of relaxing. Now “Paralyzed” has a bit more hardcore influences in it but with the filter the band has. A really good song. And last but not least the “Dead Man’s Story”. An absolutely epic and bombastic song that will not leave a head stay still.

The production and the mixing are really amazing. With everything in its place and crystal clear. And the result is a really huge sound. Same goes and for the artwork by Giannis Nakos. A truly awesome job to the hole package.

KARMA VIOLENS are back and they are here to stay. They are here to grab you from the hair and violate your neck and head ‘till it drops down. Hit you with a hammer while you’re down and make you come back for more. The album is like a tequila shot. Who can drink only one really?
