Here’s a nice overdose of quality progressive Thrash/death metal. Exence’ s debute comes straight from Italy including Federico Puleri of Vision Divine on guitars.

The album’s main statement is Thrashing Death metal, with high speed guitar solos and full of technical parts, sometimes even reminding me of Atheist and Death. Especially on vocals, the similarity seems inevitable as their vocalist sounds like Chuck Schuldiner resurrected. The production is heavy as hell, and as you go on, you can find also some other elements of modern technical death metal. Very good song structures and perfect performance. Death although, are present everywhere, they even have a song entitled “Symbolic Acts” dedicated to mastermind Chuck. Maybe this shouldn’t be a nice characteristic, but as they do not copy but are clearly influenced by and they give their own perspective, there’s no problem with me and I believe there wouldn’t be a problem for anyone else at all.

As a big fan of Chuck and all the prog/ death metal scene, that’s been going on the last years, I should recommend everyone this release, as one of the hidden diamonds of the genre. Let the metal flow as He said!
