MANOWAR has released highlights of its "The Lord Of Steel World Tour"on a live EP, featuring performances from the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Italy, Russia and Sweden. "From the first show in Zaragoza/Spain to the last show in Yekaterinburg/Russia, 'The Lord Of Steel' world tour was a terrific experience," said MANOWAR bassist Joey DeMaio. "Performing new songs for the first time in front of your audience is the ultimate test of the power of the songs to connect to the only people that matter. Our fans were totally brutalized and went wild as you will hear on this new EP. 'The Lord Of Steel Live' is a thank you to our amazing fans; it will forever immortalize this tour and those who attended it." The album was mixed and mastered at MANOWAR's own studios Hell and Haus Wahnfried by Joey DeMaio personally with longtime MANOWARengineer Dirk Kloiber.

SONATA ARCTICA To Enter Studio In September

According to Timo Isoaho of Finland's Soundi magazine, Finnish melodic metallers SONATA ARCTICA will enter the studio in late September to begin recording their new album for a tentative April 2014 release. VocalistTony Kakko has written around 50 songs for the follow-up to 2012's"Stones Grow Her Name", with plans to track and mix the effort over a three-month period. Regarding the musical direction of SONATA ARCTICA's next CD, Kakkotold Soundi that he has come up with some "diverse and versatile" material this time around, and that "at least the slower and heavier stuff will find its place on next record." The band is planning to make a slightly heavier and "more metal" album than "Stones Grow Her Name", which was certified gold in Finland for sales in excess of 10,000 copies. Kakkoalso revealed that he has composed a 10-minute song for the newSONATA ARCTICA LP, but he wasn't sure if the track was going to make its way onto the finished product. Released in Europe on May 18, 2012 and in North America on May 22, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records, "Stones Grow Her Name" was recorded in several studios all over Finland, mixed at Sonic Pump Studios by Mikko Karmila and mastered at Chartmakers by Svante Forsbäck. The effort was released as a limited-edition digipak, standard jewel case, vinyl and download.

SEPULTURA: More Footage From The Studio Posted Online

Brazilian/American thrashers SEPULTURA have reunited with producerRoss Robinson (KORN, LIMP BIZKIT, SLIPKNOT) to record the band's next album, tentatively due in October via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD is currently being tracked at Robinson's studio in Venice, California and is being co-produced by Steve Evetts, who previously worked withSEPULTURA on the "Nation" (2001), "Revolusongs" (2002) and"Roorback" (2003) albums, in addition to having collaborated with Rosson a number of other projects in the past. A short video clip of SEPULTURA bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. laying down his tracks can be seen below. SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser recently stated about the upcoming CD: "I think this album is one of the heaviest albums we ever did. We want to bring the SEPULTURA live attitude to the studio and with Ross we achieved that more than any other album, it sounds very alive, the performances are at their best. But we have one specific song that is more dramatic, clean but heavy and dark.

DREAM THEATER: Photos From The Studio Posted Online

The new self-titled album from progressive metal giants DREAM THEATER will be released on September 24 via Roadrunner Records. An 18-shot photo gallery from the making of the CD can be found atRoadrunnerRecords.com. "Dream Theater" was recorded at Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, New York, with founding guitarist John Petrucci producing and studio luminary Richard Chycki (AEROSMITH, RUSH) engineering and mixing. The album marks a brilliant new chapter for the always adventurous band, their first to have been written and recorded with drummer Mike Mangini wholly integrated into the creative process from the start.

PRIMAL FEAR To Enter Studio Tomorrow

German metallers PRIMAL FEAR will enter guitarist Magnus Karlsson's Stuntguitar Studios in Sweden tomorrow (Tuesday, May 21) to begin recording their next studio album for an early 2014 release via Frontiers Records. After collecting more than 30 song ideas, the band finally stripped the list down to 12 tracks. Frontiers and PRIMAL FEAR in January announced that they have renewed their partnership for another multi-album deal, which will include two more studio releases and one live CD and DVD.
