PHILIP ANSELMO Says He Will Release More New Solo Music Before Year’s End

Even though he has just released his debut solo album, "Walk Through Exits Only", former PANTERA and current DOWN frontman Philip Anselmo tells Billboard.com that he is planning on making more new music available before the end of the year. "I know for a fact I do have two songs that I'll release strictly for the upcoming Housecore Horror (film) festival at the end of October in Austin, Texas," Anselmo says. "Those two songs, I think, musically flow together pretty fuckin' well. They're very sarcastic, very tongue-in-cheek. It's all part of the ol' Philip Anselmo fucked-up world — and I don't mean drunk or wasted. I mean just fuckin' crazy. It's crazy around here!" According to RTL, Varg Vikernes (a.k.a. Count Grishnackh) — theBURZUM mastermind who served a Norwegian prison term for the August 1993 murder of MAYHEM guitarist Oystein Aarseth (a.k.a.Euronymous) — was arrested this morning (Tuesday, July) 16 near the town of Salon-la-Tour, a commune in the Corrèze department in central France, on suspicion of planning a "massacre." Vikernes, 40, who has been living on a French farm with his wife and three children, was picked up by the Direction Centrale du Renseignement Intérieur (Central Directorate of Interior Intelligence,DCRI), a French intelligence agency which reports directly to the Ministry of the Interior.

TOOL Drummer Says New Album Will ‘Most Likely’ Be Released In Early

TOOL drummer Danny Carey was interviewed this week by Loudwire and naturally the subject of a new album came up. Carey explained: "It's still the three of us [Carey, guitarist Adam Jones and bassist Justin Chancellor] right now and [we will be joined by singer Maynard James Keenan] soon, you know, just working on all our parts and working on our compositions together. Stylistically, we're trying to push things in different ways, but it always comes out sounding like TOOL no matter what we're trying to do. We're working everyday on it and it's going really well, so I'm hoping we'll get into the studio by the end of the year." Asked about a possible 2013 release date for the new TOOL CD, Careysaid: "I doubt it. Right now, since we haven't started tracking stuff at this point, it'll be hard. We could have the record finished by the end of the year — that's a possibility, but the logistics of getting it manufactured and getting the record company in line and all this stuff, I doubt we'll be able to get it out before Christmas. We'll see how it goes. Most likely, it'll be early 2014."

"All Is One", the Shahar Hamo-directed video for the title track from the sixth full-length album from Israeli progressive folk metal mastersORPHANED LAND, can be seen below. "All Is One" was released in North America on June 25 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media Records. The cover artwork for the follow-up to 2010's "The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR" was created by the French artist Metastazis (PARADISE LOST, AS I LAY DYING,SONNE ADAM, WATAIN) by perfectly incorporating the three biggest religious symbols into one piece of art. "All Is One" was made available as a limited deluxe book edition, including three bonus songs and a bonus DVD, as well as limited double gatefold LP, including the three bonus songs and in different vinyl colors. A standard jewelcase CD format and digital download is also available.
