Wow! A new solo track from Pantera legend ‘Dimebag’ Darrell Abbott has just hit the internet. Not only has the new song, ‘Whiskey Road,’ been unveiled, but the full sheet music for the track is also available for free.

Only a few weeks after the 10th anniversary of Dimebag’s tragic death, Guitar World exclusively premiered ‘Whiskey Road,’ which was recorded by Dime in 2001 but went unreleased until now. Recorded during the last leg of Pantera’s ‘Reinventing the Steel’ U.S. tour, ‘Whiskey Road’ features Dime not only on guitar, but on every single instrument, including vocals.

Many speak of Dimebag Darrell’s soulful musical style, and it’s no more prevalent than on ‘Whiskey Road.’ The song’s premiere leads off Guitar World’s February 2015 tribute issue to the Pantera legend (on newsstands this week), which also includes a private tour of his Arlington, Texas, estate, featuring his most cherished guitars and memorabilia; Guitar World’s guide to the 25 Greatest Pantera Songs; an interview with Pantera producer Terry Date; a revealing interview with Anthrax’s Scott Ian on touring with Pantera; and a gallery of Dimebag Darrell art and tattoos from Guitar World readers.

Listen to Dimebag Darrell’s ‘Whiskey Road’ below and see the entire sheet music for the song at Guitar World. And be sure to pick up the magazine’s February 2015 tribute issue to the immortal shredder. You can also subscribe to Guitar World to receive a Dimebag ‘Whiskey Road’ flexi-disc.
