Guthrie Govan on lead guitar, Nick Beggs on bass, Adam Holzman on keyboards, and Marco Minnemann on drums and his prog mastermind majesty Steven Wilson are back with “Hand.Cannot.Erase”. In a quite more simple context than its predecessor “The Raven That refused to sing” this quintet is once again unbeatable delivering one of the most anticipated releases of this year!

Steven Wilson has paved his own way to production mastery, being responsible for some of YES, KING CRIMSON, JETHRO TULL re-releases, re-mixes, and enjoying the approval of the global progressive rock community from musicians to journalists and of course the fans!

On “Hand.Cannot.Erase” the band really grasps the 70s progressive mood blending it with the modern times and sounds while remaining easy listening to the average listener and intriguing enough for the progressive nerd listener! Quite fascinating one could say since the gap of music generations is huge.

“Hand.Cannot.Erase” sounds deeper in perception and a lot less direct than “The Raven…” but its “pop” moments never fail! Meaningful virtuoso solos throughout the album always appear right on time somewhat always followed by vast progressive rock outbursts that you never know where they will lead your listening session.

Behind everything of course is Steven Wilson. High quality of music is inadequate to the overall result of this record and I have to admit since Porcupine Tree’s hiatus Steven Wilson is really involved in a wider range of music genres bringing up brilliant releases that stand out not only as music but as artistic statements! Satisfaction guaranteed!
