Aren’t you intrigue when Max Cavalera ,Troy Sanders, Creg Puciato and Dave Elitch are coming together to record an album? Well after so many unsuccessful attempts to create a supergroup, we have another one. These members of Soulfly, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon and The Mars Volta unite their abilities to record this album. The name of this supergroup is Killer Be Killed. I don’t know if I am the killer, but I want to be killed after listening at “Killer Be Killed” CD. Ok let me explain myself.

What to expect, when a group containing these guys release a CD, is up to you to decide. I am always giving a suspicious look when it comes to such big names of the metal music industry collaborating. The only reason for this kind of collaboration I put up with is to try something different. Now what we got here is nothing different. We have the groove music that Mastodon creates with some Cavalera and insane Dillinger vocals. And on the other hand we have the insane riffs of Cavalera with the melodic voice of Sanders. That’s it. You think I may be harsh? Well I dare you to listen.

Ok it is groovy and in some parts it is heavy and in your face, especially when Mr. Puciato is taking his turn on the microphone. Yet it is nothing more than a mix of the music these three guys have created with their original groups. I must admit I haven’t listened to The Mars Volta, in which the drummer Dave Elitch was a member. Though his work is great; he is keeping all the other instruments beautifully together. Maybe you can find something interesting in these songs. I couldn’t. The only two I stand out as the best are the opening track “Wings Of Feather And Wax” and “Snakes Of Jehova”. And of course the production is more than clean. And it is the responsibility of another big name of the industry. I am talking about Josh Wilbur who has cooperated with great names such as Lamb Of God and Gojira.

I would love to listen to their second attempt – if there is going to be one (!). I want to see if they can release something intriguing. This album is just another album to spend my time in my living room. Sorry guys but you can do better!
