Norwegian progressive extreme metallers ENSLAVED have been forced to cancel tomorrow night’s (Tuesday, February 19) show at The Opera House in Toronto, Ontario, Canada after being “trapped in a blizzard” at the U.S./Canada border near Winnipeg, Manitoba.

States ENSLAVED guitarist Ivar Bjørnson: “[We] simply can’t believe it. We’ve been here for a full day now — meaning there is no chance of making tomorrow’s show in Toronto; even if the weather should turn around dramatically during the next few hours. We’re completely devastated as we sit on the bus waiting it out. We can’t believe we’ll miss what was for sure going to be one of the very highlights of this tour.”

As previously reported, ENSLAVEDEL CACO and NEKROMANTHEONhave been nominated in the “Metal” category at the 41st annualSpellemann awards (the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy Awards). The largest and oldest Norwegian music awards show will be held March 23 at Konserthus in Stavanger, Norway and will be broadcast live on the Norwegian channel NRK1.

This is the seventh time ENSLAVED has received a Spellemann award nomination. They have won four consecutive times for their previous four studio albums:

2010: “Axioma Ethica Odini” – Winner
