Natalie Perez of Natalie's World recently conducted an interview with former PANTERA and current DOWN singer Philip Anselmo. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below. On where he would like the show to happen if PANTERA were to reunite for one night only: Anselmo: "Well, see, that's a complex question because, first of all, [latePANTERA guitarist] Dimebag is not alive anymore, and that fact is a gigantic thing. And really, there would have to be a lot of sitting down and going over a lot of very important elements between myself and the other members of PANTERA — choosing a guitar player [to play the gig] and whatnot. It's a completely hypothetical situation, really, [but] I guess, a knee-jerk reaction, or answer, to that question would be, why not where it all started? Why not play where everything began, really, which is Dallas, Texas. I don't see why any other city would make much sense. But still, once again, it's not fair to the East Coast or the West Coast, [because] PANTERA fans are everywhere. So that's a tough question for me to answer. According to RTL, Varg Vikernes (a.k.a. Count Grishnackh) — theBURZUM mastermind who served a Norwegian prison term for the August 1993 murder of MAYHEM guitarist Oystein Aarseth (a.k.a.Euronymous) — was arrested this morning (Tuesday, July) 16 near the town of Salon-la-Tour, a commune in the Corrèze department in central France, on suspicion of planning a "massacre." Vikernes, 40, who has been living on a French farm with his wife and three children, was picked up by the Direction Centrale du Renseignement Intérieur (Central Directorate of Interior Intelligence,DCRI), a French intelligence agency which reports directly to the Ministry of the Interior.

Metal4 magazine conducted an interview with ICED EARTH guitarist/mainman and singer Stu Block at this year's Rockharz open-air festival, which is taking place July 11-13 at Airport Ballenstedt in Harz, Germany. Speaking to Metal4, Schaffer said about the upcoming CD: "It's a bit of a different thing for us, because it's half of a concept and the other half is [standalone] tracks. Musically, I think it's just another step in the right direction. It's really heavy, it's very melodic. It has a really epic feeling. Even though there isn't, like, a monster, long epic track, the overall feel of the songs is very epic. I mean, there's no 'Dante's Inferno' or'Gettysburg' or the 'Something Wicked' trilogy or something like that on here, but I'm really happy with it and I'm really excited to get in and start recording. Produced by Anselmo and Michael Thompson, and recorded over the past couple of years at Philip's New Orleans studio, Nodferatu's Lair, with his band THE ILLEGALS — guitarist Marzi Montazeri(ex-SUPERJOINT RITUAL) and drummer José Manuel Gonzales(WARBEAST) — "Walk Through Exits Only" is abrasive, aggressive, anthemic and 100% Anselmo.
