The forthcoming CD, untitled at this time, will again feature the trio of vocalist/bassist Mike Dean, guitaristWoodroe Weatherman, and drummer Reed Mullin.
More video footage from the studio can be seen below.
Following its recent performance at the fifth annual Scion Fest in Memphis, the band announced live assaults for August. In addition to their already planned participation at GWAR's annual BBQ, the trio will perform a headlining show in Wilmington, Delaware before heading to South America for a string of dates. The August shows mark a break from continued work in the recording studio on the band's new album, expected for release in early 2014.
"The Child Must Die", a brand new song from Swedish black metallers WATAIN, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The track comes off the band's new album, "The Wild Hunt", which will be released on August 19 in Europe and August 20 in USA via the band's own label His Master's Noise through Century Media Records.
Produced once again by Tore Stjerna at his Necromorbus studio in Alvik, Sweden, "The Wild Hunt" is a sonic and lyrical tour-de-force that explores WATAIN's roots, such as BATHORY and DISSECTION, while also remaining truly unique. Having lost none of their integrity, WATAINcontinues to push the boundaries of the scene with their fifth full-length, refusing to compromise their sound and vision. Amid the tracks teeming with the band's classic sound, "The Wild Hunt" also features clean vocals (a first for the trio!) which, as frontman Erik Danielsson puts it, "is just us being brutally personal and honest. It shows another important facet of the WATAIN world."
"Target Earth", the video for the title track of the new album from Canadian progressive metal pioneers VOIVOD, can be seen below. The clip, created by Italian filmmaker and multimedia artist Nicola Piovesan, recreates in 3D motion graphics the visions and artwork of VOIVODdrummer Michel "Away" Langevin.
Comments Langevin: "I met Nicola Piovesan at the VOIVOD/UNKINDshow in Helsinki on October 31, 2012. We had a discussion about my 3D graphics for the album 'Negatron' and Nicola mentioned the possibility of him doing a 3D motion video for our new album, 'Target Earth'. After viewing his fantastic video for 'The Core' by the band ON|OFF|MAN, we knew he was the right person to capture the cyber world of VOIVOD. To us, the result is simply
