JASON BONHAM: ‘My Dream Is To Do The Hologram Drum Solo With Dad Next To Me’

John Parks of Legendary Rock Interviews recently conducted an interview with Jason Bonham, son of legendary LED ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham. An excerpts from the chat follows below. Legendary Rock Interviews: You've said before that your current touring band, JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE, was in part inspired by the LED ZEPPELIN show at O2 Arena. How so? Jason: It was, but there was also a considerable amount of time between when the actual concert took place in '07 and when the "Celebration Day" CD/DVD was released late last year where I gave it lot of thought. I really started considering it but I was of two minds. At first, I thought I would really just leave playing those songs with those guys at that and I was really worried about what people would think — not critics, but fans in general. I gave it a tremendous amount of thought, and it was a couple of years before I actually took it out on the road and it was well-received. Then, when the actual O2 concert was finally released, I would have never imagined that I would still be playing the material and doing the shows, but it's still doing well. I think the DVD of "Celebration Day"helped, though, people seeing me performing with John Paul [Jones],Jimmy [Page] and Robert [Plant]. It's definitely helped with people coming out to the shows. I think if you were a non-believer before, I feel confident that my performance on that show wa

TOMMY LEE Says ‘Celebrity’ Is ‘The Most Misused Word Ever’

MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee has posted the following message on his Facebook page: "I'm a celebrity….really? "I think that means being famous, having pissed on the world's fire hydrant, leaving your mark for years to come and making a dent in the globe the size of the hole in the ozone? "The world's view of a celeb today is the most fucked up, watered down bullshit I've ever seen. "I've been in this game for many years now and the abundance of lame TV shows really sets a gruesome standard. Stupid shows about finding love on national TV? Partying in Jersey? Trapped on some island? Celebrity REHAB? The B-C crew that weren't celebs in the first place!!... Celebrity apprentice? If you are a celeb, why are you looking for an internship?

SLASH Talks Solo Band, Possibility Of Classic GUNS N’ ROSES Lineup Reunion

In a brand new interview with John J. Moser of The Morning Call, legendary guitarist Slash (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) spoke about the current lineup of his solo band, dubbed SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS, which features Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass) and Frank Sidoris (guitar). Slash: "I only called [Myles to sing on my self-titled 2010 solo debut album] because I'd heard a lot about him… I was really curious to see what he sang like. And since I was doing this record with all these different singers, I asked him to come in. And he was just phenomenal, and … I really liked him as a person. You know, his whole personality and his attitude and everything really jelled with mine. "The longer we knew each other, the more I really just liked working with him. I thought we had a really great chemistry and we started writing on the road." "I put together what I thought was, you know, a quick pickup band [to tour in support of the first record]. But it turned out to be, like, the perfect bunch of guys. And I just thought that, after we'd been on the road for awhile, we should just go in the studio and make a record with these guys."

THE 69 EYES To Release Second Graphic Novel At FANGTASIA III

This summer, gothic boutique publisher Seraphemera Books & Music will continue to reveal more of the history from Helsinki, Finland-based gothic metallers THE 69 EYES in the second part of the three-part series The 69 Eyes: Helsinki Vampires. The second issue of the trilogy will premiere on July 20 in New Orleans at Fangtasia III — the yearly summer vampire event co-produced by THE 69 EYES singer Jyrki 69 and series co-writerKurt Amacker. Pieced together from a secret story hidden in six of the band's songs, and certainly confirmed from hints dropped in countless articles and quotes, Book 2 brings you the tale of the formation of THE 69 EYES that you would never find on Wikipedia or in the bio section of any record company's web site. "This is the cult, in the old skool way! I wish THE CRAMPS had the same in the '80s..." commented Jyrki 69. The story follows the vampire Jyrki as he travels to Los Angeles in the heyday of its raucous death rock scene. The urban witch Christina Deathhas summoned him from across the globe, even as their intentions are entirely at odds. What follows carries them from L.A. to Paris and then to New Orleans, in a spectacular vampiric odyssey of love, loss, and obsession.
