MOTÖRHEAD’s First-Ever Cruise ‘MotörBoat’ To Sail This Fall

MOTÖRHEAD's first-ever cruise, the MotörBoat, will launch this fall. It will sail from Miami, Florida to Key West and Cozumel. Cruise dates, artist lineup and other details will be announced soon. MOTÖRHEAD was recently forced to cancel its European tour due to the fact the band's frontman, Lemmy Kilmister, has been struggling with health issues since he suffered a hematoma in July 2013, leading to a three-week spell in hospital. The band called off a summer tour, then cut short their comeback show at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. They then postponed a European tour set to begin in November. MOTÖRHEAD's 21st studio album, "Aftershock", sold 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 22 on The Billboard 200 chart. MOTÖRHEAD's previous CD, 2011's "The Wörld Is Yours", opened with 7,000 units to enter the chart at No. 94. The band's 2008 effort, "Motörizer", premiered with 6,400 copies to debut at No. 82, while 2006's "Kiss Of Death" registered a first-week tally of 3,500. "Aftershock" was recorded at NRG Studios in North Hollywood, California. motorboat2014cruise_638

ABORTED: ‘The Necrotic Manifesto’ Album Details

Death metal psychopaths ABORTED have completed work on their eighth full-length album, "The Necrotic Manifesto", with Danish producer Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, MERCENARY). The CD will be released on April 28 in Europe and on April 29 in North America via Century Media Records. Comments ABORTED frontman Sven De Caluwé: "I can't believe we did it, to be honest. "We had a little over three months from start to master on this record. "Everyone really gave 300% on this record, and it was an absolute pleasure to work with Jacob once again, who really pulled the best out of all our asses. "I can say, in all honesty, that 'The Necrotic Manifesto' is, without a doubt, the strongest record ABORTED has done thus far and could not be more proud of everyone involved in the project. It is the most brutal, extreme and technical record of the band without losing sight of groove and catchiness, which are all vital elements of this band. "We cannot wait to get out there and start playing some new material in front of people and get some feedback on what we did in these intense months. Besides this, I am very thrilled to have some of my favorite vocalists on this record as guests. Both Phlegethon (WORMED) and Vincent Bennett (THE ACACIA STRAIN) brought their own brand of burp to the table and really complemented the songs they are on! The artwork has been done by Pär Olofsson (PATHOLOGY, IMMOLATION, IMMORTAL)." "The Necrotic Manifesto" track listing: 01. Six Feet Of Foreplay 02. The Extirpation Agenda 03. Necrotic Manifesto 04. An Enumeration Of Cadavers 05. Your Entitlement Means Nothing 06. The Davidian Deceit 07. Coffin Upon Coffin 08. Chronicles Of Detruncation 09. Sade & Libertine Lunacy 10. Die Verzweiflung 11. Excremental Veracity 12. Purity Of Perversion 13. Of Dead Skin & Decay 14. Cenobites In support of "The Necrotic Manifesto", ABORTED will tour North America with KATAKLYSM in April. ABORTED will return to Europe in May for a handful of release shows before heading into the festival season. VAN HALEN Singer DAVID LEE ROTH Returns With New Season Of ‘The Roth Show’

Episode 1 of Season 2 of "The Roth Show", the video podcast program hosted by VAN HALEN singer David Lee Roth, can be seen below. In this episode, Roth discusses "The New York City Way". In a 2013 interview, Roth explained that "The Roth Show" started off as an experiment. "You can prop something up with your famous name for a day or two," he said. "But does it really hold water? Let's see if a new idea really has a chance. Inside a matter of weeks, it really caught fire." Roth last year said that his house in Pasadena, California is just about his only example of rock 'n' roll excess when it comes to possessions. "I've been here the length of the VAN HALEN career," he explained. "A lot of folks in my position like things and stuff — an Italian sports car with a six-syllable name and an Italian trophy wife with a five-syllable name. This was the one material thing that I bought." He also spoke about his childhood, saying: "I wanted to be things that were in books. I wanted to be a pirate. I wanted to work on an oil rig in Oklahoma and get into fistfights in a beer bar. I wanted to go salmon fishing and almost get killed." VAN HALEN is working on its 13th studio album, according to ALTER BRIDGE guitarist Mark Tremonti. Tremonti — whose bass player in his solo band, Wolfgang Van Halen, is also the bassist in VAN HALEN — spilled the news in an interview with VH1 Network, saying, "With Wolfgang in the band now, he does a lot of work with VAN HALEN right now, they're putting together a new album, so it's going to be hard to get everybody's schedules to line up." Tremonti admitted, however, that Wolfgang has not told him much about the next VAN HALEN effort, saying, "You know, he doesn't. He just says, 'Yeah, sounds great, man. Sounds great.'" The question, however, is whether the material will be freshly written or pulled from the band's vaults. Many of the songs on 2012's "A Different Kind Of Truth" originated from demos going back to the group's earliest days, with Wolfgang telling The Pulse Of Radio, "There's plenty of other ideas lying around." Roth said in an interview late last year that VAN HALEN had started work on a new record, revealing, "I write lyrics routinely and the band plays together routinely, at least three times a week up at Ed's [Van Halen] place."

KORN’s JONATHAN DAVIS Says OBAMA Is Becoming ‘More Of A Dictator’, Claims USA Is Turning Into ‘Police State’

KORN frontman Jonathan Davis was interviewed on the February 17 edition of "The Alex Jones Show", the program hosted by noted conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. You can now watch video footage of Davis' appearance below. Asked about the inspiration for KORN's "Spike in My Veins" video — which overlaps important news reports of government lookout and major political figures with modern pop acts such as Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Kanye West — Davis said: "For a long time, I've been into what's going on with our country. "I don't necessarily consider myself a political person, but over the years, I've seen what's been going on, and it's time to do something about what's going on with our country and the system and everything that's going on. "It seems really sad that everybody's so asleep and oblivious to the fact that the country uses the media to capture people's attention or take away from the fact that what's going on with our country. "It really freaked me out when the whole Miley Cyrus thing was going on, and when that went down, [President] Barack [Obama] passed that new law that he can imprison anyone he wants and he doesn't have to charge them and he can keep them as long as he wants. "Basically, all our liberties are being taken away one by one, and finally, I feel like it's time… I've gotta do something and try and get as many people as we can to wake up and see what's really going on." Asked about the meaning behind the title of KORN's 11th studio album, last year's "The Paradigm Shift", Davis said: "I think it's time for us as normal people to come up and fight against the powers that be. "I think this country was founded and based in the beginning and set up for us to have revolutions when we don't like our government and what our government has done and taken over and taken away all our privacy and all the things going on with the drones…. I mean, everything. It's a scary time, and I think that someone's gotta do it in our position, someone's gotta speak out to the younger audience and let them know what's going on and how to wake up and take back their privacy." He continued: "Big Brother is alive and well. I mean, you're looking at me on my camera phone. It wasn't about putting up cameras. I think we've already got cameras everywhere. You can't tell me that there's no backdoors for everybody to see, so that the powers that be can see what we're doing and watch what we're doing at all times. And I'm not comfortable with that. And I think it needs to go. And they're building that huge-ass building, NSA is, for all the spying, and it's just gonna get worse and worse. I mean, it's scary times, brother. "Nobody cares what's going on behind the closed doors when Obama makes all these crazy laws that take away more and more of our privacy. It'll make you more of a dictator. "Something's gotta happen, man. It's gotta stop." Davis also elaborated on why he thinks Obama is becoming more of a "dictator" as time goes on. "I mean, I've said it before. I think he's an illuminati puppet," the singer said. "It just doesn't make sense, the whole thing. The guy comes from out of nowhere, he gets made president, all this stuff starts happening. I don't know… It just didn't make sense to me. And to top top it off, I'm not really a political person, I don't know much about it, I'm just worried about my privacy and my children's privacy. This being America, we're supposed to be the 'land of the free,' and it's becoming a police state." He added: "I just want us to become the country we used to be. "I remember, when I was a kid, how amazing our country was, and as I've grown up and watched things happen, I just want it to be like it used to be. "Like I said, I'm not really a political person and I don't wanna come off like I don't know what I'm talking about, but I really wanna leave a world for my kids to have the liberties and the privacy that this country was founded on." "The Paradigm Shift" sold 46,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on October 8, 2013 via Prospect Park. Davis last year revealed that he got into the studio later than the rest of the group because he was dealing with personal issues. He explained, "My boy got diabetes and I had come off medication for my depression, and that fucked me up . . . I'd been on it for three years and the doctor told me you gotta get off this, it's bad for you." Davis took drastic action to get off his medication, saying, "I went to this county rehab. I was like, 'I don't want to do this shit ever again.' So I went into the most ghetto, fucked-up place I could find and I'm barely coming out of it now."

LAMB OF GOD’s CHRIS ADLER Talks To ARTISAN NEWS About ‘As The Palaces Burn’ Feature Film (Video)

Drummer Chris Adler of Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD recently spoke to Artisan News about the band's feature documentary film "As The Palaces Burn". You can watch the report below. LAMB OF GOD entered into a worldwide distribution deal with Specticast (LED ZEPPELIN's "Celebration Day", Paul McCartney's "Rock Show") for their Don Argott-directed ("Last Days Here", "Art Of The Steal", "School Of Rock") feature film "As The Palaces Burn". Filming for the movie began in 2012 and concluded in March of 2013. "As The Palaces Burn", which should not be confused with the making-of documentary packaged with the recent re-release of the 2003 LAMB OF GOD album of the same name, was conceived to be a documentary focused on the power of music and its impact on cultures around the world and its ability to bring together people of all nationalities regardless of religious or political differences. After a worldwide casting call, filming took place in Colombia, Venezuela, Israel, India, and the United States. As filming reached its conclusion, the documentary was forced to take a major turn when the band's lead singer, Randy Blythe, was arrested in the Czech Republic and charged with the murder of a fan in June 2012. Granted unique access to Blythe's saga, Argott's filming covered Blythe's 38-day imprisonment in Prague, his release and the band's return to live performances, and finally Blythe's trial for murder in Prague in February 2013. Explained Blythe: "On June 27, 2012 my band flew from Norway to the Czech Republic to play a show. Upon landing in Prague, we were met at the end of the jetway by five masked and heavily armed large men in body armor, along with four plainclothes detectives. To the immense surprise of my bandmates and myself, I was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter concerning the death of a LAMB OF GOD fan. "We had played Prague two years previously, and unbeknownst to any of us, a young man had sustained an injury to the head during our show, dying a month later. The police said that I was the cause of that injury. I was promptly incarcerated and spent the next thirty-seven days in a 123-year-old crumbling prison on the outskirts of Prague. "After a long and complex process during which my band had to borrow almost half a million bucks, I was released on bail and returned to the United States. Instead of hiding like a coward in the U.S., safe from extradition (the U.S. government had refused to cooperate with the Czechs after they requested assistance in investigating me immediately after the young man died. My government also did not deem it necessary to inform me that I was a wanted man in a foreign country. Your tax dollars at work.), I returned to Prague in early 2013 to stand trial. I did this for several reasons, first and foremost being I felt the family of this young man deserved some answers, and I was the only one who could provide them. I felt it unethical to hide from my problems while they grieved the loss of their son. As the father of a dead daughter, I understood their pain in a very visceral way. I had tried to hide from my problems for over twenty years by crawling into a bottle. I do not live that way anymore, so to hide from this would have been intolerable for me. I believe it would have lead me back to the drink, and from there, I would have surely died. "On March 5, 2013, I was found not guilty and acquitted of all charges. I have remained a free man every since."

NEWSTED Pulls Out Of Australia’s SOUNDWAVE Festival?

Update: Australian touring mogul and Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah has posted a message on Twitter saying that he is "trying to find NEWSTED and figure out what is going on.' He added: "The band's equipment just arrived in Brisbane so not sure what's up." He also wrote: "I can't get hold of any of [Jason's] people. [I am] hoping that is because he is on the plane [on his way to Australia]!" NEWSTED — the new band featuring former METALLICA, VOIVOD and FLOTSAM AND JETSAM bassist Jason Newsted and STAIND guitarist Mike Mushok — has posted a message on Facebook earlier today indicating that it will no longer be coming to Australia for the Soundwave festival, which begins in just a few days' time. The very short and simple message, which has since been deleted, read as follows: "The NEWSTED Band will not be appearing or performing live in February or March 2014." NEWSTED's cancelation follows MEGADETH's withdrawal from Soundwave earlier this month after a disagreement between MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine and the Soundwave promoters over NEWSTED's appearance on MEGADETH's "off" dates during Soundwave. NEWSTED's debut album, "Heavy Metal Music", sold nearly 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 40 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was made available on August 6, 2013 in North America via Chophouse Records/Collective Sounds and August 5, 2013 in Europe through Spinefarm Records. NEWSTED took part in last year's edition of Gigantour, the critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. Also appearing on the bill were headliners MEGADETH, along with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DEVICE, HELLYEAH and DEATH DIVISION. newstedsoundwavetweetfeb18

ROBERT LOWE On Split With CANDLEMASS: ‘They Decided To Drop The Best Vocalist They Ever Had’

Metal Wani writer Achintya Venkatesh recently conducted an interview with doom metal vocalist Robert Lowe (CANDLEMASS, SOLITUDE AETURNUS). You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below. Asked about whether his split with CANDLEMASS was an amicable one, Lowe said: "Actually, there was not a situation [that caused the breakup]. I mean, the guys decided to drop the best vocalist they ever had. It's not my problem. But you, there wasn't a situation. Everything is good, everything is kosher." Lowe also commented on CANDLEMASS mainman Leif Edling's claim that Robert never bothered learning the lyrics to some of the band's classic songs and had to read them from a notebook while on stage. "Well, yeah. I mean, everybody reads the Bible, and I do the same thing," Lowe said. "I have my Bible, and there you go." As previously reported, Lowe has teamed up with composer and NS/Stick player Michael "Dr. Froth" Millsap (SIX MINUTE CENTURY, WELL OF SOULS) to record a concept album entitled "Gathered In Darkness". The music will be a blending of progressive metal with epic doom metal textures. Lowe is best known for his work as the vocalist for CANDLEMASS from 2007 through 2012, appearing on the albums "King Of The Grey Islands", "Death Magic Doom" and "Psalms For the Dead", as well as for his work with SOLITUDE AETURNUS. Dr. Froth is the bassist for SIX MINUTE CENTURY, whose latest album, "Wasting Time", was released in October of 2013 on Nightmare Records. He is also a member of the epic doom band WELL OF SOULS. Several other musicians will be joining the cast of "Gathered in Darkness", including vocalists Chuck Williams (SIX MINUTE CENTURY), John Calvin (WELL OF SOULS), and David Gonzales (FLUID FREQUENCY); guitarist Joel Gregoire (STRIDE); Don LaFon (SIX MINUTE CENTURY); Simone Mularoni (DGM); and Marc Petillon. The project is wrapping up the writing phase and is scheduled to enter the studio in early March.
