Panagiotis Karagiannidis

Report: Watain, Degial, Aenaon – Athens, Greece

Watain, the famous black metalheads from Sweden included Greece to their tour’s destinations, nine years after their last concert here in Athens and we could not be happier with their decision. Right after the release of ‘The Wild Hunt’ the band along with their friend-band from Sweden, Degial, are preparing to amuse as with a strong performance, an old-school one, with ritualistic acts and mood for destruction. Along with those two bands, our Aenaon is opening the concert.

Crematory
Antiserum

I really admire a band wanting to experiment, and that’s what Crematory having doing all these years. In “Antiserum” the combination of EBM to a lot of their songs and some simple beats, here and there actually sounds more like typical Crematory fare, but the whole attempt, feels rather forced.

The Winery Dogs
S/T

Mike Portnoy looks like a busy musician. He joined Adrenaline Mob, just right after quitting from Dream Theater and Avenged Sevenfold, only to jump into another bandwagon after a couple of records. This time, he teamed up with Richie Kotzen (Poison, Mr.Big) and Billy Sheehan (Mr.Big, Talas), famous and talented musician with great influence in the rock scene.

Mantar
Death By Burning

Mantar are newcomers in the sludge music scene. Their first full-length record is officially released by Svart Records this year, a record titled ‘Death by Burning’. Its artwork shows a woman (?) with a crown in her head.

Panagiotis Karagiannidis

Studied Business Administration, Panagiotis is Metalpaths' founder and editor-in-chief. He still believes that can be the... guiding light to extreme music (NOT!) and he would die to see a Pantera reunion show.
