Fueled By Fire
Trapped In Perdition

This is a fantastic year for the new breed of thrash (Evile, Gama Bomb, Havok, Violator, Exarsis, Pasadena Napalm Division, Ultra-Violence) as well as for the old school (Accuser, Sodom, Morbid Saint) since they've either come back with live shows (like Morbid Saint) or made some amazing records. This time around another new band that surprised me with its progress: Fueled By Fire.

Hatesphere
Murderlust

Who would tell me that Denmark’s Hatesphere would shortly enough reach their tenth release so far, and still sound furious and fresh as it gets? It’s pretty amazing that the once new hope of Europe’s thrash metal scene reached such a number of releases, and it’s even more notable the fact that despite they missed the chance of becoming a large and inspiring band.

A Storm Of Light
Nations To Flames

The US post-metal band A Storm of Light continues their music exhibition and delivers another hit album this year. With numerous records and releases, after the success of ‘As the Valley of Death Becomes Us, Our Silver Memories Fade’, the band goals into another successful record and creates ‘Nations to Flames’. As the title reveals, the record claims to be critical and politically oriented, a criticism in social and political reality.

Panagiotis Karagiannidis

Studied Business Administration, Panagiotis is Metalpaths' founder and editor-in-chief. He still believes that can be the... guiding light to extreme music (NOT!) and he would die to see a Pantera reunion show.
