The stoner rockers Sasquatch come from California to deliver some old school stoner rock. There’ve been about ten years since the band’s debut record and now this year Sasquatch released ‘IV’, their fourth one.
Let’s kick start this review just by mentioning the musicians involved in this epic metal super band. On the bass we have Frode Glesnes, member of the black/Viking metal band Einherjer. On the guitars we have Patrik Lindgren of black/Viking metallers Thryrfing and Rune Eriksen of savage black/thrashers Aura Noir. On the drums you have Nick Barker, session or regular number for literally dozens extreme metal bands (black, thrash, death metal, you name it) and behind the microphone you have none other than Alan Averill of Irish blackened doom metallers Primordial.
Hungarian extreme metallers EKTOMORF will release their new album, "Retribution", on January 31, 2014 via AFM Records. The follow-up to 2012's "Black Flag" is described in a press release as a "first-class fist-in-your-face album, displaying heavy grooves and sheer power in the best of ways. Refining and bringing things to perfection was the goal, and this has been achieved impressively."
I didn’t expect to see a Graveyard concert in Greece, not until they were old and with a big career behind them, since fresh bands who don’t get the recognition they deserve don’t normally visit our country during the start of their career. But times have changed concerning concerts in Greece and not only were I surprised when I found out this crazy band would be playing at Gagarin 205, I was more surprised to see the place almost packed upon entering before the first act of the night!
What can one say about Suicidal Angels? They've made the Greek metal scene so proud over the past years being the first Greek Thrash metal band to sign a deal with a large record company (Nuclear Blast, 2009) and make it big with tours all over Europe with legends of the scene. Metalpaths had the chance to talk with Chris Tsitsis (lead guitarist) a week before the big show with British Evile about various issues concerning the band. Let's see what he said to us
The Forum in Copenhagen is a venue that can hold 10,000 people and it's an arena that I've visited fairly frequently the past 15 years. I have never seen the Forum be SOLD OUT... But when the godfathers of metal, BLACK SABBATH visit Copenhagen, the place is sold out. I honestly thought that there would be people left outside in the freezing cold that evening.
A brand new song from Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE entitled "Raising Hell" was premiered on the November 18 edition of BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show" with Daniel P. Carter and will be released digitally on December 10.
Studied Business Administration, Panagiotis is Metalpaths' founder and editor-in-chief. He still believes that can be the... guiding light to extreme music (NOT!) and he would die to see a Pantera reunion show.
