OZZY OSBOURNE: ‘I’m A Garbage Can’ When It Comes To Drugs

BLACK SABBATH members Ozzy Osbourne (vocals) and Geezer Butler(bass) were interviewed on this morning's (Tuesday, June 11) edition of "The Opie & Anthony Show" on Sirius XM satellite radio. A four-minute clip in which Ozzy talks about his drug use with Opie andAnthony can be seen below. After 35 years, three original members of BLACK SABBATH release a new disc on Tuesday called "13". The first SABBATH record since 1978's"Never Say Die!" to feature Ozzy, along with guitarist Tony Iommi and Butler, it's their second attempt at new music together after a previous effort failed in 2001. Butler told The Pulse Of Radio why it worked this time. "When we tried it in 2001, we just went in, like, completely without any idea of what we were gonna do," he said. "We got about six reasonable songs out of it, but we knew that we had to come up to, like, a certain standard, and we didn't feel that it did so we didn't carry on with it. This time we got together and Tony, like, accumulated all these hundreds of riffs, so we had a starting point this time. There was a certain point where we went, 'Yeah, that's it, we can do it.'"

DIO: ‘Holy Diver’ Limited-Edition Guitars Coming In July

Artist Series Guitar will release 30 of DIO 's "Holy Diver" guitars in July. Finished with DIO's exclusive artwork and built with solid mahogany, the Dio ASG is set with artwork from the "Holy Diver" album release. Once the graphic has undergone the ASG-designed, chemical bonding process, the guitar is then clear-coated, wet-sanded and buffed. This process forever seals the custom graphic to the guitar. AVENGED SEVENFOLD Releases Another Teaser For New Studio Album

Another teaser of new music from AVENGED SEVENFOLD has been posted online and can be seen below. The 30-second clip features a snippet of a new song from the sessions with producer Mike Elizondo for the California act's sixth studio album, which is due out this summer. The new disc will follow up 2010's "Nightmare", which was also helmed by Elizondo and which earned the band its first No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 chart. AVENGED SEVENFOLD frontman M. Shadows last year hinted at the direction of the band's next studio LP, telling Metal Hammer that it will not sound like "Carry On", the group's contribution to the video game"Call Of Duty: Black Ops II". Shadows explained, "The new album has a lot more of a [BLACK] SABBATH / [LED] ZEPPELIN feel to it than 'Carry On'. There's definitely more SABBATH in what we're writing, and we're proud of 'Carry On', but this album is going to be on a whole new level."

JASON BOHNAM On His Father: ‘I’m Honored To Represent Him All These Years After He’s Gone’

Joanie Cox-Henry of Sun-Sentinel.com recently conducted an interview with Jason Bonham, son of legendary LED ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham. Asked about sharing the stage with Ann and Nancy Wilson of HEART to perform "Stairway To Heaven" during the LED ZEPPELIN tribute at theKennedy Center Honors, Jason said: "When I was asked to do'Stairway', I was, like, 'Really? 'Stairway'?' There are some songs you just don't touch. But the arrangement with the choir, orchestra and way the whole band played was very special. Both Robert [Plant] and John Paul [Jones] were blown away by the arrangements. It was cool and different. The respect to the original was incredible and Ann and Nancywere fantastic. There were 50 people bobbing up and down wearing top hats. The hairs on the back of your neck stand up when you see something like this.

DARK TRANQUILITY Guitarist Says ‘Practical Conditions’ Of Touring U.S. Are ‘Getting Harder’

Louder Than Hell recently conducted an interview with guitarist Niklas Sundin of Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILITY. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below. Louder Than Hell: You have mentioned before that you rarely feel excited for an album at the end of recording sessions because of the amount of time you spend on it, but that you feel good about "Construct" now that it is done. What about the end of the new album's sessions is different for you? Sundin: Well, that was something that I put on Twitter for some reason, and it got misunderstood quite a bit. What I tried to say was that a typical effect of being locked up in a studio for 2-3 months listening to every single second of the new songs over and over again is that you're getting extremely tired of the material. At the same time as you know that you've created something great, there's a part of you that never want to hear the songs again. Also, the collaborative and democratic nature ofDARK TRANQUILITY means that there always are riffs and ideas that a single member doesn't find too interesting according to his personal preferences, so what normally happens directly after a studio session is that I sit down and think that the result is OK, but if X and Y would have been done differently, it would have been even better (again: for my own tastes). In this case, there were two main parameters that were different: The members' opinions on the material were a bit more uniform — i.e. no great clashes in taste — and the actual mixing process brought out a lot of details and nuances in the songs that we previously weren't aware of. The result is that I for a change actually was a massive fan of"Construct" from the first time I heard the final mix. Well, as you can see, I'm not a guy that gets my opinion across very well in 140 characters, ha ha!

ADRENALINE MOB Singer: ‘We Don’t Wanna Wait Around’ For MIKE PORTNOY

Brazil's Wikimetal podcast recently conducted an interview withADRENALINE MOB and SYMPHONY X vocalist Russell Allen. You can now listen to the chat using the SoundCloud player below. On whether they knew drummer Mike Portnoy was leaving ADRENALINE MOB before Mike released a statement announcing his departure: Russell: "Of course we knew about it before he made it public. He's been, obviously, real busy with THE WINERY DOGS, which is his next band that he's doing. The truth of it is we wanna keep working, we wanna keep doing ADRENALINE MOB and we don't wanna wait around for Mike to have the time [to put into ADRENALINE MOB]. And he doesn't know when he will have the time again, so that's really what's going down. Mike Portnoy was asked to be in the band by myself. Me and [guitarist Mike]Orlando had already written all the material, so [ADRENALINE MOB's debut album] 'Omertá' was completely finished before Mike joined the act. And it's a bummer, but he's got his sights on other things, and he's not gonna stick around. So we wish him the best of luck, but the MOB's gotta go on."

Report: Tardive Dyskinesia + Support Acts – Athens, Greece

This Saturday (06/08), a mini music fest took place in Gagarin, a fest for charity reasons. Some of the best Greek groups joined forces to give an outstanding performance and support ‘Ανακούφιση’, a guesthouse for homeless children or homeless grown-ups. The money gathered by the arrangers of the event would be given for medicines and food for the homeless. These actions should take place even more often and the number of people who came by to support was satisfying. The bands arranged to perform were seven and two of them was Tardive Dyskinesia and Lucky Funeral, some of the biggest names in Greek music scene. First band on stage was 2theBone! Those young rocknrollers has been giving support to many concerts for a while. Unfortunately, because of some problems with the transportation, I was forced to drop by late at the concert and only watched two songs by the specific band. The trio performed some good heavy rock songs, with wild mood and badass guitars. Last song was ‘Sister Demon’, a song that was uploaded as a rehearsal demo track recently at the band’s facebook page. I hope I will have the chance to hear more from them in the future. After 2theBone, Puta Volcano came on stage to warm up the audience with some desert rock music. The band rocked heartily, offering great, fuzzy guitar riffs along with strong vocals by the band’s female vocalist.
